Exploring London_Xmas

Christmas is a beautiful time of a year and awaited not just by children. The Christmas’ lights around London are amazing. However there is one special place in the capital worth visiting during the season, which is Charles Dickens Museum. Each year for Christmas the house of one of the Britain’s greatest writers is beautifully decorated with greenery of ivy, holly, bay and mistletoe, as would be when he lived here. The traditional decorations add charm to the place and make it truly magnificent, especially after dusk.

Further, the special exhibition “A Ghost of an Idea: Unwrapping a Christmas Carol”, which is on until 25 February 2018, draws forward the history of Dickens’ best known and loved work.

When coming to the museum and exploring the place I always feel like being in another world… Each time it is a magical journey…

I am going back to the museum on the Christmas Eve, when the house will be filled with the seasonal music from Victorian carol singers of Hartley Voices and life performances.

Looking forward to the Dickensian Christmas!

  1. Great photos! A nice representation of those traditional times back in the days. My favourite is the photo with the clock and the candle light. Enjoy your time at the museum today! 🙂
